IN THE NEWS: The future of cancer treatment is targeting specific disease cells with drugs, says Dr. Richard Van Etten, director of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at UC Irvine Medical Center.

Van Etten, who came to the cancer center in October, 2014, plans to push for more early phase clinical trials of drugs that could benefit Orange County cancer patients.

It’s an extraordinary and exciting time to be doing cancer research and taking care of patients.”
