Dr. Ariana Nelson is a board-certified physician specializing in anesthesiology, interventional pain management and acute and chronic pain. Her clinical interests include chronic hip, back and knee pain; nerve pain; complex regional pain syndrome and vertebral fractures.
Nelson is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and a member of the Spine Intervention Society. She has contributed to several book chapters on regional anesthesia and pain medicine. In addition to research in functional MRI and connective tissue disorders, she has a strong interest in the harmful effects of opioid medications and strives to improve her patients’ enjoyment of life through prescription of non-opioid medications, adjuvant therapies and state-of-the-art procedures.
Nelson earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Health System before completing an internship at the Saint Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor, Mich. She went on to finish a residency in anesthesiology, as well as a multidisciplinary pain management fellowship, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
