Dr. Erin H. Lin is a board-certified surgical oncologist who specializes in breast health promotion and breast surgical treatment at the UC Irvine Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the UC Irvine Health Pacific Breast Care Center in Costa Mesa.
Lin has expertise in both benign and malignant tumor lumpectomy and mastectomy surgeries, using techniques that minimize scarring and preserve skin and nipples. She is also skilled in intraoperative radiation therapy and image-guided minimal invasive biopsy.
She earned her medical degree from Western University of Health and Science in Pomona, Calif. After completing a residency and internship in general surgery at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center/Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, Calif., she completed fellowship training in breast surgery at UC Irvine School of Medicine.
Lin is actively involved with several multi-center clinical trials, including: TARGIT-US Registry Trial for intraoperative radiotherapy; the SAVI SCOUT® surgical device trial, and the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Projects. She is also a co-researcher into the use of non-invasive diffuse optical spectroscopy for early breast cancer detection. She is proactive about community outreach programs and devotes time to many community cancer screening events.
She also has presented many posters in national breast cancer conferences (American Society of Breast Surgeons, American Society of Clinical Oncology Breast Symposium, Miami Breast Conference and San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium) and has published research articles about MarginProbe® in the Annals of Surgical Oncology.
