Renovation and expansion is underway at UCI Health digestive disease center

The UCI Health H.H. Chao Comprehensive Digestive Disease Center (CDDC) is undergoing a complete renovation and expansion at the UC Irvine Medical Center campus in Orange.

When the CDDC building reopens in summer 2017, there will be new procedure rooms for endoscopy services, as well as other multispecialty exam rooms. Renovations also will adopt the latest technological innovations for diagnosing and treating digestive diseases.

The new CDDC will not only be more convenient for patients, but also will offer patients an aesthetically pleasing experience.

“We’re making these improvements with the patient in mind,” said Erwin Altamira, senior director of the CDDC. “The expanded space will allow us to see even more patients for medical and surgical consults, as well as perform complex procedures in a timely fashion. We will truly meet the expectations patients have of a world-class center.”
