UCI Health to open primary care centers in Tustin and Orange

Public invited to open house, meet the doctors on Nov. 15

October 30, 2014

UCI Health is pleased to announce the opening of two new state-of-the-art primary care centers in the cities of Orange and Tustin in November.

Thirteen physicians with long-standing ties to the community will provide convenient and comprehensive primary care in two UCI Health Medical Group centers. Both locations will feature family and internal medicine plus laboratory services for fast turnaround of tests. The Tustin center will offer pediatrics and rheumatology, plus urgent care and imaging services such as x-ray and ultrasound. Numerous specialists, including physicians in dermatology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology and gastroenterology, will join the center in early 2015.

“These new UCI Health primary care offices reflect our goal of bringing UCI Health’s exceptional care closer to home and into communities we serve,” said Terry A. Belmont, CEO of UC Irvine Medical Center.

Patients at these centers will also have access to world-class clinical services and more than 500 UCI Health physicians and surgeons.

“The UCI Health centers are an opportunity to transform how care is delivered to patients, ” said Dr. Sajee Lekawa, medical director of UCI Health Medical Group. “This is one-stop shopping for comprehensive primary care. We believe combining it with specialists, urgent care and hospital-level services like imaging and laboratory testing is innovative and puts the needs of the patients front and center, where they should be.”

The centers will also embrace new technology, with plans to roll out the use of Google Glass in early 2015 to assist physicians and staff to seamlessly integrate patient visits with their electronic medical records.

The Tustin center at 1451 Irvine Blvd. will open on Nov. 4. Primary care office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Urgent care services are offered 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays

The Orange office at 293 S. Main Street, Suite 200 will open on Nov. 5. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

To celebrate the opening of these primary care and specialty centers, the public is invited to meet or get reacquainted with the physicians at an open house from 9 a.m. to noon, Nov. 15 at the UC Irvine Medical Group office in Tustin. The open house will have activities for all and those attending can learn more about UCI Health primary and specialty care, receive free flu shots and health screenings and enter a drawing to win an iPad mini.
