Walk-in care centers are designed to provide convenient access for immediate treatment of common medical conditions. They are usually staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners who are able to treat symptoms and write prescriptions.
No appointment is needed for our UC Irvine Health walk-in care locations in Irvine and Orange, where our highly trained nurse practitioners offer immediate care for patients age 2 and up. Come see us for all minor illnesses and injuries, including:
- Cold, fever and flu symptoms
- Bites and minor burns
- Conjunctivitis and other eye irritations
- Ear aches and headaches
- Mild breathing difficulty or mild asthma
- Mild cuts and abrasions
- Nausea, vomiting and dizziness
- Seasonal allergies
- Sinus infections
- Skin rashes and infections
- Sprains, strains and minor fractures
- Strep throat
- Upper respiratory infections
- Urinary tract infections
This treatment is overseen by experienced UC Irvine Health physicians and backed by the advanced technologies and research expertise of Orange County's only university medical center, should additional care be needed.

Urgent care is intended to provide treatment for non-life threatening medical problems that can't wait until the next day. These medical conditions may include fever, minor traumas (such as bruises, sprains and minor fractures), diarrhea, vomiting or pain with urination. Patients are treated by a physician and no appointment is required.
By providing appropriate treatment for patients who need immediate care, urgent care services allow emergency departments to concentrate on the most serious cases.

UC Irvine Health emergency medicine specialists provide care for serious medical problems, including life-threatening injuries, chest pain, heart palpitations, head injuries, loss of vision, severe burns, unexplained seizures, vaginal bleeding while pregnant, fevers with rash and unexplained intense headaches or abdominal pain.
