Conditions & Treatments

The skilled radiologists at UC Irvine Health diagnose and help treat a wide range of conditions, with particular expertise in women’s and abdominal imaging. They are skilled in providing a host of interventional radiology services, including chemoembolization and cryoablation of tumors.

Women’s imaging

Our diagnostic radiologists are experts in imaging and diagnosing conditions and diseases that primarily affect women, including:

  • Infertility
  • Pregnancy
  • Breast cancer
  • Gynecologic cancers, such as ovarian and cervical cancer
  • Osteoporosis

Abdominal imaging

Our specialists in abdominal imaging use the most advanced diagnostic tools to identify conditions and diseases of the abdomen through a variety of procedures, including:

  • Abdominal/pelvic CT, including three-dimensional imaging
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the abdomen and pelvis, including vascular MRI
  • Ultrasound, including routine abdominal, pelvic, vascular and obstetric ultrasound with three- and four-dimensional imaging
  • Percutaneous interventional procedures, including biopsy and drainage
  • Traditional gastrointestinal (GI) and genitourinary (GU) radiology

UC Irvine radiologists also perform the full array of gastrointestinal fluoroscopic radiology procedures, including modified barium swallows, esophagrams, upper gastrointestinal studies and small bowel examinations, involving CT and MRI enteroclysis and contrast enemas.

Genitourinary imaging includes intravenous urograms (IVUs), CT urograms and dedicated urinary tract imaging, using CT, ultrasound and MRI.
