The aesthetic, reconstructive and cosmetic services we offer include:

Forehead lift

Known as a brow lift, forehead surgery can smooth the appearance of forehead wrinkles and correct drooping eyebrows to give you a more youthful, pleasing appearance.

Our surgeons make small incisions hidden just under or near the hairline and lessen wrinkles by selectively releasing certain muscles and tissues. The forehead is then smoothed by removing excess skin. Eyebrows may also be elevated during the procedure.

Recovery time may involve swelling and bruising for seven to 10 days, as well as itching and possibly some numbness that should diminish over time. Forehead lift surgery is often performed in conjunction with a facelift or eyelid “tuck” for harmonious results.

If you don’t need excess skin removal, ask about an endoscopic brow lift, a procedure with smaller incisions that has a quicker recovery time. A laser peel can be a good complement to a forehead lift or facelift.

Eyelid tuck

Eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty, lifts upper eyelids, reversing a droop that sometimes is pronounced enough to impair vision. This procedure also can correct puffiness or bags under the eyes that give a tired appearance.

We also are skilled at a procedure to create a fold in the upper eyelid, making it easier for women born without upper eyelid creases to apply makeup.

During eyelid surgery, the surgeon removes excess fat, muscle and skin above and below the eye, resulting in a firmer eye area and a refreshed, more youthful appearance. Eyelid surgery may be combined with a brow lift, facelift and skin resurfacing for optimal results.

The healing process may involve swelling and bruising, along with stitches that dissolve or are removed a few days after surgery.

Facelift

Over time, the skin, muscles and fibers that support our face and neck begin to loosen. This loosening can manifest as a softened jawline, double chin or deep wrinkles.

A facelift involves creating small incisions in discrete areas to lift select layers of facial skin. The goal is to improve facial appearance and restore a more youthful look.

Facelift surgery may be the most personal of all cosmetic procedures and there are many options available. Your physician can explain the various options and recovery times involved with each to help you make an informed decision.

Laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels

Men and women suffering from premature wrinkling or scars may be good candidates for chemical peels or laser procedures.

Our skin has several layers. The two primary layers are the epidermis and dermis. These layers are composed of biological material such as collagen and long fibers that loosen and stretch over time.

Chemical peels involve brushing the skin with a solution that removes the damaged outer layers of skin. Laser surgery involves using pulsed light to resurface the skin. Both are used to lessen wrinkles caused by excess sun exposure, crow’s feet and acne scarring.

A laser is a high energy, amplified light wave that can be used to correct the top layer of skin instantly, without bleeding and only minimal trauma to the surrounding skin. Wrinkles are also smoothed away or minimized.

After the procedure, your skin can appear reddish and may feel irritated. It can take several weeks to see the final results of the process, so discuss the timing of the procedure with your physician.

Nose surgery

Patients with breathing problems or those concerned about a crooked nose can be helped by nose surgery, or rhinoplasty.

The procedure can be performed with all incisions done inside the nose or with a small incision across the narrowest part of the columella, the area between the nostrils. Our specialists sculpt the bone and cartilage of the nose to achieve the desired shape. Extra cartilage, skin and bone may be repositioned or removed.

Most patients are able to resume normal activities within two days. Stitches are generally removed one week after surgery. Within two weeks most patients are able to return to work.

Ear shaping

Human ears grow to full size by about six years of age, making cosmetic or corrective ear surgery (otoplasty) possible even for young patients.

Our ears are made of a pliable cartilage that can be pinned back, reshaped, reduced in size or made more symmetrical.

Surgery to reshape the ear usually takes a few hours and can provide great benefits.

Our surgical team can discuss options, healing times, the risks and rewards of the surgery with you.

Chin surgery

Facial beauty is all about symmetry. A well-defined chin is an important part of creating this harmony.

In fact, the nose and chin go together to create a balanced profile, which is perhaps why it’s common to plan a chin augmentation or reduction along with nasal surgery.

Chin surgery is a fairly straightforward procedure that can make a major difference in appearance. The procedure may involve an implant or liposuction to better refine the chin and neckline.

For a chin implant, a small incision is made in the natural crease under the chin. To reduce the chin can require minimally invasive liposuction or a more in-depth procedure in which the surgeon sculpts the bone to a more pleasing size. Recovery times vary depending on the chin procedure you choose.
