Brain Tumor: Conditions & Treatments
Patients who choose the Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program at UC Irvine Health for the treatment of brain, central nervous system or pituitary conditions place their trust in a team renowned for its experience and expertise.
Conditions and tumor types
Our skilled team of neuro-oncologists and neurosurgeons, as well as specialists in radiation oncology, neuropathology, neuroradiology and neuropsychology, are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with all neurological tumor types, including:
At UC Irvine Health, we tailor treatments for all neurological tumors to the individual patient and their specific tumor type.
If a surgical approach is recommended, our neurosurgeons use the latest image-guided and minimally invasive technologies, including intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), minimally invasive skull-base endoscopy and the BrainPath® neuroimaging and neurosurgery system.
These allow the brain tumor team to perform the most delicate cranial and skull base diagnostic procedures and surgeries with exacting precision. The BrainPath system, in particular, makes it possible to remove previously inoperable deep-seated tumors and blood clots.
Surgeries are coordinated in a team-centered approach among neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists and otolaryngologists.
