Dr. Pearl Zimmerman is a UC Irvine Health physician who specializes in preventive medicine. She takes a personalized approach with each patient to find the most effective solutions for even the toughest chronic diseases.
At the Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine, Zimmerman offers 90-minute new patient visits and 60-minute return patient visits to foster an in-depth functional medicine approach. Her focus is on how the body’s systems function as an interrelated whole, including supporting genetic variations, correcting nutritional deficiencies, balancing brain neurotransmitters, blood sugars, adrenal, sex and thyroid hormones. She also works to uncover and treat any infections that are creating inflammation and depleting the immune system, as well as address underlying gut dysfunction.
Zimmerman received her medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where she also completed a residency in preventive medicine. She has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, serving as an assistant professor in the schools of Medicine and Public Health at Loma Linda University, working in clinics for the underserved and specializing as a diabetes nurse educator.
Zimmerman believes her patients deserve a tenacious detective who genuinely cares. Her passion is to help her patients realize their peak potential and enjoy graceful aging.
