Dr. Maki Yamamoto is a board-certified UC Irvine Health surgical oncologist. Her clinical interests include the surgical treatment of skin malignancies such as melanoma and Merkel cell carcinomas; endocrine diseases, such as thyroid cancer, parathyroid disease and adrenal tumors, and soft tissue sarcomas.
Yamamoto earned her medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. She completed a residency in general surgery at UC Irvine Medical Center and fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of South Florida's Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla. She has published several research papers and book chapters in her field.
Yamamoto sees patients at UC Irvine Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in Orange and UC Irvine Health Digestive Disease Center — Newport in Costa Mesa.
