Dr. Sunil P. Verma, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist and head-and-neck surgeon. Additional subspecialty training in laryngology gives him unique qualifications to manage and treat disorders of the throat, including voice, swallowing and breathing conditions. He is director of the UC Irvine Health University Voice and Swallowing Center.

In addition to managing common ear, nose and throat conditions and diseases of the larynx, Verma also performs minimally invasive outpatient procedures such as laser surgery, esophagoscopy and vocal fold injections. He has advanced training in laser surgery for laryngeal and throat cancer that preserves a patient's voice. He also specializes in caring for singers, actors, lawyers, teachers and others who rely on their voices for professional reasons.

Verma also is a member of the esophageal disease services team.

Verma has presented his research at numerous national and regional meetings, has appeared on national TV many times and has designed otolaryngology courses for medical students, resident physicians, primary care physicians and other ear, nose and throat specialists.
