Dr. Melvin L. Seard II is a board-certified UC Irvine Health urologist whose focus is on patient care and advocacy, particularly in regard to prostate cancer.
Seard earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his residency in urology at the University of Southern California.
Before joining UC Irvine Health, Seard practiced at the Talbert Medical Group in Fountain Valley. There he held several leadership appointments, including chief of staff, chair of Urology and chair of Surgery. After 18 years of practice in Southern California, he relocated to Nashville, Tenn., where he practiced with Urology Associates of Nashville Inc., the largest urology group in Tennessee. He has been the recipient of several awards including Physician of the Year and, most recently, the Frist Humanitarian Physician Award.
Seard has assisted in training residents and physicians on various urologic treatments and procedures, helped to standardize patient care protocols and improve overall clinical structure and quality. He also is dedicated and passionate about patient education, as evidenced by his community outreach and patient health advocacy for understanding urologic conditions, particularly prostate cancer.
