Dr. Meera Sohail is a board-certified UC Irvine Health specialist in internal medicine with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex conditions, especially in elderly patients. She also is skilled at managing chronic conditions, including diabetes and hypertension, in adults of all ages.
Sohail earned her medical degree at Punjab College of Medicine in Faisalabad, Pakistan. She completed a residency in internal medicine at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, New York.
Sohail served as an attending physician at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, NY, and as a part of the clinical teaching faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, also in the Bronx. She has completed a number of research projects, including the analysis of homocysteine variations in thyroid disease, the effects of nutrient intake on hematology in women and impact of educational intervention on glycemic control in critical care patients.
