Dr. Scolaro is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic traumatologist. He specializes in the treatment of acute fractures as well as fractures that have not healed properly. His other areas of interest are fractures of the pelvis and hip socket, fractures around joint replacements and fractures adjacent to joints, also called peri-articular fractures.

Scolaro’s research interests involve patient-focused clinical outcomes research, specifically multicenter trials and large population-based outcome measures. He also is collaborating in fracture fixation research to improve the healing of injured bones at the UC Irvine Orthopaedics Biomechanics Laboratory.
