Dr. Kim D. Lu is a board-certified UC Irvine Health pediatric pulmonologist and pediatrician who specializes in asthma, lung disease in premature infants and general lung conditions.
Lu earned her medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of North Carolina and a pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
As a pediatric pulmonologist, Lu, seeks to better understand how physical activity and weight affect asthma in children. Through the Pediatric Exercise and Genomics Research Center (PERC), she studies ways in which exercise can be used to treat children with asthma in the community. She is actively involved with area school districts to provide asthma education for students and nurses.
