Dr. George V. Lawry practiced at the Menlo Medical Clinic in Northern California from 1981 to 1993. Lawry entered academic medicine at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, teaching from 1993 to 2009. He and his family returned to California in November 2009, when Lawry was named chief of the Division of Rheumatology in UC Irvine's Department of Medicine. His research interests center around education, curriculum development and teaching effectiveness, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal physical examination skills.
