Michael Gibson, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in advanced heart failure. He provides cardiac care for people with chronic as well as acute heart failure, and care for patients before and after receiving cardiac transplantation or left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. His interests include reducing heart failure readmissions and LVAD complications.
He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Failure Society of America and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant.
Gibson attended medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, N.Y. He completed his internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship and advanced heart failure fellowship at UC San Diego, where he served as chief fellow.
