Dr. Marjan Farid is board-certified UCI Health ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery, and the treatment of ocular surface disorders.
She performs all types of corneal transplants, including femtosecond laser-enabled lamellar keratoplasty. She also performs limbal stem cell transplants and artificial corneal transplants to treat severe ocular surface disorders.
Farid earned her medical degree at UC San Diego, followed by an internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at the UCI School of Medicine, where she also received fellowship training in cornea and external disease under the late Dr. Roger Steinert, an international pioneer in refractive laser surgery.
Her research focus is on corneal surgery and the use of the femtosecond laser in corneal transplantation. Her work has appeared in many peer-reviewed journals.
Farid, who also is fluent in Farsi and Spanish, sees patients in Irvine and Orange.
