Dr. Phyllis F. Agran is a board-certified UC Irvine Health pediatric gastroenterologist and pediatrician who is a nationally recognized expert in childhood digestive diseases and nutrition, as well as childhood injuries and prevention. She has practiced in Orange County for more than 35 years.

Her patients benefit from her clinical expertise in poisoning, burns, drowning prevention, sudden unexpected infant death, as well as child passenger, pedestrian and bicycle safety. 

Agran earned her medical degree at UC Irvine School of Medicine, followed by a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, also from UC Irvine.

Agran has testified at local, state and national hearings to promote child health and safety policies. Her research generated data that contributed to the passage of California's mandatory Child Passenger Safety Law.
