The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has named UC Irvine Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center director Dr. Richard Van Etten as this year’s walk co-chair.
There will be giveaways, live music and a dunk tank, ending in a walk that will light up the night sky in support of cancer survivors, victims and their families.
Light the Night Walks are about people coming together to inspire, motivate and take an active role in finding cures. The funds raised by Light the Night participants will help advance more breakthrough therapies for blood cancer patients, such as targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them, as well as immunotherapies that use a patient’s own immune system to kill cancer.
