Often deadly, there are more than 120 types of brain and central nervous system tumors. A brain tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue in the brain or central spine that can disrupt proper brain function, dramatically impacting the quality of life for those affected. In the U.S. today, nearly 700,000 people of all ages are living with a primary brain tumor. More than 69,000 others will be diagnosed this year, including an estimated 4,300 children.
